Marlin USV is intended for extended operations at sea and depending on wind conditions can remain on patrol for up to two weeks before refueling. It is fully autonomous while at rest and will maintain the designated virtual anchor location and upwind position automatically. Marlin USV is intended to operate as a communication range extension, payload carry and operations platform with manned and unmanned aerial and naval platforms maintaining area surveillance and RSTA tasks 24/7. It is also intended to be remotely operated by qualified platform and payload operators via the remote console during the active phase of operations, refueling, or other tasks requiring situational awareness. Starlink Defence LEO satellite antenna is mounted inside the hull under a specially designed RF-transparent hatch to reduce the heat signature of the antenna. Omnidirectional EVLOS waterproof antennas are mounted on the extension rod in front of the engine to enable unrestricted emission and reception. Marlin USV has a range of built-in sensors, including jamming-protected anti spoofing capability GNSS receiver, wind speed and direction sensor, magnetic compass, roll/pitch/speed sensors, and depth sounder. Marlin USV does not have any collision avoidance capabilities to enable high-risk profile operations. While deployed at sea, Marlin USV must be observed by aerial surveillance to prevent unauthorized boarding or collisions with other vessels and floating debris. Depending on the desired configuration, Marlin USV can perform periodic radar or EO/IR sensor sweep of the surroundings to detect approaching vessels and alert the operator.
